For many stroke survivors, the journey to recovery can feel like a lonely road. The physical challenges are often visible, but the emotional and psychological hurdles—the fear, the frustration, and the feeling of isolation—can be even more daunting to overcome.

At the Kenya Stroke Society, we believe that no one should have to walk this path alone. That’s why we are thrilled to announce the expansion of our community-based peer support groups across Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa.

Why Peer Support Matters:
Our new program connects recent stroke survivors with trained volunteers who have themselves navigated the journey of recovery. This peer-to-peer connection provides a unique form of support that goes beyond clinical care. It offers real-world advice on managing daily activities, a listening ear for emotional struggles, and, most importantly, a profound sense of hope.

“When I met someone who had been through what I was going through, I finally felt understood,” shared one of our program participants. “They didn't just tell me I could get better; they showed me it was possible by living their life to the fullest.”

Join Our Next Meeting:
We invite all survivors, caregivers, and family members to join our upcoming community gathering. It is a safe space to share experiences, learn from one another, and build lasting bonds that aid in the healing process.

Date: Saturday, October 14th
Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Venue: Kenya Stroke Society Resource Center, Nairobi (Virtual option available via Zoom).

Together, we are stronger. Together, we are resilient.
