OUR APPROACH

Working together for a stroke-ready Kenya

Collaboration and evidence drive everything we do. From communities to hospitals, we're building a stronger, more connected stroke care system.

A unified approach to stroke care

We bring together health professionals, researchers, and advocates united by a common goal โ€” to advance stroke awareness, treatment, and recovery across the country. Our work spans policy, clinical practice, community outreach, and continuing professional education.

Strategic partnerships

KSS partners with the Ministry of Health, hospitals, universities, and global stroke organizations to promote early recognition and emergency response to stroke, develop national stroke care guidelines, establish acute stroke centres, and build professional networks.

Vision

A stroke-ready Kenya where every person has access to rapid, high-quality stroke care and the opportunity to live a full, meaningful life after stroke.

Mission

To strengthen stroke prevention, care, and rehabilitation in Kenya through public education, training, evidence-based research, policy advocacy, and collaborative partnerships.

Compassion, evidence, equity, and collaboration โ€” from the largest teaching hospital to the smallest rural clinic.

Our Story

Built by clinicians, driven by patient care.

Founded to unite healthcare leaders across Kenya, the Kenya Stroke Society has grown from a core group of passionate neurologists into a national network of medical professionals, researchers, and patient advocates.

We work closely with the Ministry of Health, county referral hospitals, and international stroke bodies to elevate standards of care, expand acute intervention access, and champion stroke survivor recovery.
